End of Year Updates...
Below are some "End of Year Updates" you may find helpful:
- End of Year Process for Student iPad
- End of Year Process for Staff iPad
- All 4th, 7th & 8th grade teachers have received their teacher iPads. Two of the 5 TTSD Teacher iPad Introduction trainings remain: Tuesday June 13th 4:15-6:15 & Thursday, June 22 10am-12:00noon
- All Elementary School DLC classroom teachers with iPads have received word their devices will be replaced this summer. Teachers iPads available after completion of "Grant Recipients :: iPad Replacement App Survey"
- All English Language Arts and Social Studies (ELA/AA) teachers at Tigard High and Tualatin High School will receive their teacher Chromebook this week (see you technology coach for details).
- NetOp Vision classroom management tool training - Thursday, June 15th for ELA/SS teachers.
- All 5000 student devices have been ordered!

Professional Development Sessions for 4th, 7th & 8th grade teachers
We are excited to offer five different options for the initial professional development series for teaching and learning with iPads in TTSD. All sessions will be held at the district office on the following days:
- Thursday, May 25th - 4:15 pm - 6:15 pm
- Wednesday, May31st - 4:15 pm - 6:15 pm
- Monday, June 5th - 4:15 pm - 6:15 pm
- Tuesday, June 13th - 4:15 pm - 6:15 pm
- Thursday, June 22nd - 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
After you receive your iPad from your school, there will be further instructions to follow prior to coming to your initial PD session.

2017 Redefining Learning Plan ** Update **
Last night at the May 8th board meeting the Board approved the 2017-21 Redefining Learning Program Plan (aka Tech Plan). READ THE PLAN HERE. Within the plan is the explanation of the 3 phase implementation approach, a budget proposal for the purchasing & FTE, and a timeline for device rollout by grade level. This plan details the Theory of Action, program objectives and anticipated impact on student learning.

2017 Technology Bond Update: Devices Approved by School Board May 24th!
Last night at the April 24th TTSD Board Meeting, the board approved the award of device contracts with Apple for the iPad and CTL for the touch screen Chromebooks. Devices were selected based on educational use and student needs for each level as follows:
- Grades K-5 = iPad with STM case
- Grades 6-8 = iPad with keyboard case ("transitional device")
- Grades 9-12 = TouchScreen Chromebook
Next steps in the Process:
- Redefining Learning Program Plan (aka "Tech Plan") will be presented to the board in May for approval. This plan will include program objectives, measurements & a timeline for student device rollout.
- Later in May, the board will be presented with a request to purchase student devices for the 2017-18 school year.
- Spring/Summer teacher training and preparation:
- Anticipating the rollout of 7th grade devices in 2017-18 and 8th grade students soon there-after (TBD), 7th and 8th grade teachers will receive iPads in next few weeks so that training can begin this Spring for all MS teachers.
- PD session times for 7th and 8th grade teachers (2 hrs), will be announced in the coming weeks. Check back to this blog for registration link!
- After May 8th board meeting, a training schedule for elementary level will be communicated.
- For high school, initial use of the Chrome browser will provide teachers with a glimpse of HS student experience on the Chromebooks. More communication on training is forthcoming.
- Digital Dreaming Classes (iPad 101, Chromebook 101) available for FREE this summer.
